Hi, I’m Elizabeth. Welcome to RABBY.

Knitting has fascinated me since I was a child. I used to watch my mother knit – and that’s probably when I first sensed how a simple strand of yarn can become something beautiful, warm and truly personal.

Later came the dream of having my own yarn shop. After I moved to Görlitz, that dream came back to me. And I learned that this city has a long textile history: for centuries, cloth was made and traded here, and later wool spinning mills and other textile businesses worked here too.

I loved this special coincidence: it was in a city with exactly this history that I decided to make my old dream come true. And that’s how RABBY was born.

Today, RABBY is an online yarn shop based in Görlitz. This is where my stockroom is, and this is where I pack and ship your orders.

Yarns I’d love to knit with myself

For RABBY, I choose high-quality yarns from Italy. I’m not just looking for beautiful colors or a strand that feels nice. I picture every yarn already on the needles: What sweater would I knit with it? How would it turn out as a scarf or a cardigan? What could I make with this texture and this color?

That’s why the yarns you’ll find at RABBY are ones I picked the same way I’d pick them for my own projects.

I hope that when you open a package from RABBY, you feel the same thing I felt back then, looking at my mother’s balls of yarn:

“I wonder what I could make with this?”

Because yarn is only the beginning. Then come your idea, your hands and a little time. And little by little, a few balls of yarn become something that didn’t exist before.
