Collection: Chunky Yarn

With chunky yarn, you can watch your work grow. On 4.5 to 8 mm needles, one evening gives you a piece that would otherwise take weeks – and in the meantime, your knitting keeps your lap warm.

For everything you want finished fast

Hats, headbands, chunky scarves, cowls, blankets, and pillows. At this weight, a single ball is often enough for a whole piece.

A hat is a good first project: our guide How to Knit a Hat for Beginners walks you through it step by step. Our guide Which Yarn for Needle Sizes 5, 6, and 8? explains which needle goes with which yarn.

What you’ll find here

Yarns from 120 to 160 m per 100 g – the thickest in our range. With alpaca for warmth, with wool for shape, plus gradient yarn and multicolor yarn.

One thing that matters with chunky yarns: the stitches look calm and uniform, even in plain knit rows. Not every chunky yarn manages that.

Care

Hand wash at 30 °C, dry flat, do not wring. Chunky knits take longer to dry – allow an extra day.

You’ll find finer yarns for shawls and light sweaters in our Mohair Wool collection.
